- Are we supposed to pick up the tobacco litter?
- The short answer is no. Data collectors should focus on answering the questions and following the protocol for the park or sidewalk observation survey.
However, if an LLA wants to add a tobacco product waste (TPW) cleanup to the same trip to the MUH, a separate team member should conduct the clean up. An LLA adding a litter clean up to these MUH visits will also add to the time it takes to be out in the field.
Please be sure to consult a TPW clean up guide. The California Youth Advocacy Network created the Tobacco Product Waste Cleanup Guide designed for coordinators working with youth/young adults. - Can we delete or edit any of the questions? 63 questions is a lot!
- No, the survey cannot be edited and questions cannot be deleted. Although there are 63 questions, there is skip logic built in which will likely make the survey shorter, especially for smaller locations. For example, if the MUH does not have a pool or outdoor stairway, then the questions about the pool and outdoor stairway are skipped.
- How do I answer question 3 if there isn't a name on the MUH list?
- For question 3, you should look for the name of the MUH property in the, "Neighborhood," column of your MUH list to see if it matches a sign at the MUH property you are observing. If there is no MUH name listed on your route list or no sign with the name at the MUH property, select "Yes."
