New Releases

What's New (and Different) with TCEC?

At its core, evaluation is about change. In California tobacco prevention, we use evaluation to learn what works and what doesn't, continually improving our efforts. And sometimes, yes, even your friendly evaluation associates make changes to how we do things internally.

Check out what's new and different at TCEC:

Happy Trails, Jeanette!

It’s the end of an era at the Tobacco Control Evaluation Center. Long-time evaluation associate and former TCEC project director Jeanette Treiber has retired from her post to head for greener pastures! She won’t have to go far either—just right outside her door to the seven-acre Rio Linda farm she and her partner Deno have created.

Congratulations to Diana Cassady On Her Retirement!

The TCEC team extends its warmest wishes to Diana Cassady, DrPH, as she begins her retirement. Dr. Cassady has been the Principal Investigator of TCEC since 2007, and we owe her an enormous debt of gratitude for her leadership. We will miss her, and we wish her the best!

On Thursday, June 25, TCEC facilitated the second of two group TA sessions with our partners around the state to discuss the challenges and resources for conducting evaluation activities during the shelter in place and COVID-19 environment.  Together we shared some tips and support to help get through this together.

TCEC is still open for business!

During this uncertain time, we wanted to provide our partners around the state with assurance that we are still available to help you with your evaluation needs.

TCEC staff are currently working remotely, and may not be available by phone. If you need immediate assistance, you can reach our Help Desk at any time by emailing tcecTA@phmail.ucdavis.edu.

We ask for patience during this time and send our thoughts to everyone navigating this crisis.
