Introducing (Again)…Harvest Your Data
Changes Coming to Mobile Data Collection
Harvest Your Data (HYD) is a platform for data collection and management, similar to SurveyAnalytics. You can find the HYD website here: https://www.harvestyourdata.com/
HYD has its own apps for mobile offline data collection. HYD uses the apps iSURVEY for Apple devices and droidSURVEY for Android devices. Both apps provide the capability to collect data on electronic devices, both with and without an Internet connection. Data are saved on your mobile device, such as a tablet or cell phone, and can later be uploaded to a password-protected HYD account (managed by your CTPP-funded program or the TCEC team). These features and technical support to use these apps are all available at no cost to CTPP-funded projects.

If this sounds familiar to you, it's because it is! We actually started with iSURVEY and droidSURVEY during the 2013 Healthy Stores for a Healthy Community Campaign (HSHC). Now that's a blast from the past!
HYD has all the capabilities needed to successfully complete statewide data collection efforts like HSHC, ECTC, Tobacco Purchase Surveys, Annual Coalition Surveys, and so much more. What's new now is a fun new name (Harvest Your Data) and the ability for each CTPP-funded project to have its own accounts, which are called affiliate accounts. Once you have a survey that has been tested and is ready to be deployed, the TCEC team will issue a voucher to activate your survey. That's what makes your account an affiliate account.
How Do Projects Prepare for This?
For now, there's nothing you need to do differently. You can keep using your TCEC-issued SurveyAnalytics account until Dec. 31, 2025. If you have data collection plans that may go beyond the December 31st date, we can get you early access to HYD so that you're not working out of two separate systems. Just message us if your team is in this situation.
In the coming months, we'll be issuing HYD accounts, so having up-to-date contact information in OTIS and with your TCEC Support Contact would be really helpful.
If you're an early planner, you can register for our upcoming November 13th webinar where we'll provide more details about this switch and you can ask us all the questions you want.
The transition to HYD is just that— a transition. It won't happen like turning off a light switch. TCEC will provide a wealth of resources and individualized support throughout the process. You'll be hearing from us a lot more about this, and soon you'll be harvesting your own data with some new(ish) tools!
